Hurley is located in the southwestern part of Virginia in Buchanan County. The people are friendly and proud of their heritage.

Three rooms onthe top floor was my first home in Hurley. This was in 1953, my dad came to work for Lester Coal and no houses were available. I was scared all of the time---we heard that it was haunted! Peggy Belcher Ratliff
